The first step to “being” requires that we first find our foundation - the one entrusted to us.

To excavate the foundation of the soul one must first remember.

Our true foundation lies at the bottom of layers of lived experiences.

This is the first of a seven-part series on excavating our lived experiences.

Family is our first community and one from which our self-perception (value) is forged to send us forth on a path to fulfill our aspirations and desires (vocation).

Many tender souls are often too weak to reject inflexible societal boundaries and find themselves conforming to patterns of inauthentic thoughts and behaviors. It is here, dear reader, where the great work of  Excavating Societal Lies will begin! 

The passive acceptance of culture can be detrimental to the fulfillment of our own particular and unique mission given to us by the Most Holy Trinity, our vocation. 

Before we can identify our true desires, those planted in the depth of our being at the Crucible of Creation, we must first unearth those aspirations that may have been born from societal and cultural bonds.

To bring our task of excavation to completeness, we must notice our tendency of seeking the material over the eternal. We must cast out self-preservation and self-indulgence and make the better choice, the one that reverberates through eternity.
